Sanobharyang, Kathmandu — Manufacturer & Exporter

Fibre finer than
a human hair, woven the way it always has been.

Himalayan Chengra Pashmina Industries hand-crafts shawls, scarves, stoles, blankets and accessories from Chyangra cashmere combed from Himalayan goats — for wholesale buyers, retailers and private clients across the world.

The Fibre

A Kathmandu workshop, a Himalayan fibre

Chyangra pashmina scarf, styled and worn

Every piece begins as raw down, combed — never sheared — from Chyangra goats that graze the high Himalaya each spring. It's a fibre prized for its softness, warmth and durability, and one that Nepal has worked with for generations.

Our artisans in Sanobharyang carry that tradition forward, pairing hand-weaving technique with modern quality control, so that every shawl, scarf, stole and blanket that leaves the workshop meets both heritage and export standard — whether it's a wholesale order or a bespoke commission.

The Process

From mountainside to loom

01

Sourcing

Raw down is combed by hand from Chyangra goats during the spring moult, gathered from herders across the high Himalaya.

02

Cleaning & Carding

Coarse guard hair is removed, leaving only the soft, insulating undercoat that gives pashmina its characteristic warmth.

03

Spinning & Dyeing

Fibre is spun into yarn and dyed in small batches, keeping colour consistent across a run without losing the fibre's natural softness.

04

Weaving & Finishing

Woven on traditional looms, then hand-checked, pressed and finished to a standard suited to both local and international markets.
